Verizon expanding 4G LTE to more locales on Sept.15 [update: slew of more places announced]

Verizon announced today that it will be bringing their 4G LTE service to Fargo, North Dakota and Moorehead, Minnesota on Sept. 15. 

This news comes days after Verizon announced their LTE deployment to 15 new cities. Consumers throughout the mid-west should be excited as they will soon be able to experience the lightning fast speeds seen on Verizon's 4G network.

[Update: We originally wrote that the LTE network would only be rolling out to Moorehead and Fargo, but Verizon announced a considerable amount of more places that will get it]

Here is a list of places that will be receiving LTE on Sept. 15th:

  • Moorhead, Minnesota
  • Fargo, North Dakota
  • Rockord Illinois
  • Mansfield, Ohio
  • Canton, Ohio
  • Akron-Canton Airport
  • Cleveland, Ohio
  • Lima, Ohio
  • Iowa City, Iowa
  • The Quad Cities
  • Bloomington/Normal, Illinois
  • Champaign/Urbana, Illinois
  • Springfield, Illinois

Current Android devices that can take advantage of the speeds are: Samsung Droid Charge, LG Revolution and HTC Thunderbolt. Though who knows, by the 15th, we may have the much anticipated Motorola Droid Bionic hitting shelves, which will provide an attractive option as well.
